stickytack is my very first short film project which holds a significant place in my heart on the rare occasion i happen to remember that it exists.
i think thats the best way to describe it.
it would be fun to share its story with the web so it has its place in the world, i guess :)
one sunny after-school evening, me and two of my most mischievious friends at the time were, just, messing around and being teenagers and stuff on school grounds;
standing on ourdoor picnic tables and tackling each other to the floor in the library.
this was all on school grounds after school, so no one was around to be disrupted by this.
as much as i enjoyed these chaotic interventions, i was much less a part of them as i was a spectator.
i was ok with that. and i still am.
instead, in the library i was quietly (or sometimes loudly) playing with some sticky tack, making shapes of animals and smiley faces on the wall.
eventually the loud two came over to see what i was up to, and slowly added their own details in spare stickytack to the face i'd made.
and he was beautiful.
for my first-term homework, and eventually final project on our script module, we had to find a photograph already in our camera roll and write a short 3-minute script inspured by it.
i found the photos above, and decided to base my script on that little sticky tack face we'd made, dedicating the script to my friends.
at the beginning of second term, the lecturers shortlisted 10 scripts from the above task that would be emailed to us all to vote on,
resulting in 5 scripts for the students to form little 5-or-6-people film crews around.
we would choose our role in each project, (director, cinematographer, soundie, editor...) and work together to bring the short scripts to life.
(we were, of course, first year film students, so ... something around that skill level should be expected lolz :p)
i was amazed !!! and ...so so scared when my script was voted into the 5 aha
film shoot wraps, editing process, film uploaded and submitted !! (edit text l8r)
